Building an online store used to mean Shopify (expensive long-term), WooCommerce (DIY hell), or hiring an agency ($10K+). AI app builders are a third option. This walkthrough shows the actual flow — what you type, what you get, what you fix.
What you need before you start
A rough idea of what you sell (clothing, food, digital, services). A list of 5-20 products with names, prices, short descriptions. A Stripe account (free to create) for payments. That is it.
You do not need a domain yet. Shaker gives you a free subdomain to test on. You do not need product photos either — AI can generate placeholder images that look real enough for demos.
Step 1 — Describe your store
Open the Shaker dashboard. Pick the "Online Store" template. In the prompt box, type something like: "An online store selling handmade ceramic mugs. Earthy colour palette. Categories: mugs, bowls, vases. About-the-maker page. Email signup for new drops."
The more specific, the better. Mention your tone, your audience, integrations you need. The AI uses this brief to design the layout, write the copy, and structure the product catalog.
Step 2 — Wait 2-5 minutes
Shaker spins up a multi-agent pipeline: an Architect plans the pages, a Designer picks the colours and layout, an Engineer writes the code. You see live progress.
When it finishes, you have a deployed preview URL. Open it. Click around. The cart works. The checkout works. The admin panel works.
Step 3 — Import your products
Go to the admin panel of your generated store. Upload a CSV of products, or add them one by one. For each product: name, price, description, category, photos (or AI-generated placeholders).
Shaker auto-generates SEO titles, meta descriptions, and Open Graph images for every product page. You will spend zero time on SEO copy.
Step 4 — Connect Stripe
In settings, paste your Stripe publishable + secret keys. That is the entire payment setup. Stripe handles cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and 3D Secure out of the box.

Step 5 — Polish and deploy
Open the visual builder. Tweak the hero image, the colour palette, the typography. Move sections around. Add or remove pages. Everything is drag-and-edit.

Limitations to know
For very high SKU counts (10K+) you will want a dedicated e-commerce platform like Shopify Plus. Shaker is best for stores with up to ~1000 SKUs.
B2B with very complex pricing tiers — you may need custom logic. Shaker generates editable code, so a developer can extend it, but it is not no-code at that point.
